A LABOUR OF LOVE

Where to begin with this....

We started prepping for this wedding in January. My amazing best friend was getting married and as duly appointed wedding card maker, i had to "bring-it" and make her something she would love. She has an eye for design too so nothing sub-par wold pass. My A-game had to be an A+ with extra stars of love :-)

Black and yellow where her colors of choice. From lace to doilies to ribbons to no ribbons to buttons to damask layouts, we went through all those phases.
I have to admit, it was hard, and tiring, but a labour of love nonetheless that i would do 10-times over if i had to :-) :-)
Here goes . . .

Congratulations Patricia & Steve

LABELS

I happen to have an amazing friend who has the prettiest coolest cutest smartest colorfull-est (is that even a word) house i've ever been in. From out of the world deco to simple everyday things that she puts together to form something amazing.

She constantly challenges me to be better at everything i do, no matter how little.

With that in mind, i decided to make something for my little yellow haven.
Adding that little 'extra' turns the ordinary into something 'extra-ordinary'

OF EXAMS AND SUCH LIKE THINGS

I don't see why the sending of best wishes to those doing exams should be turned into such a morbid, dull, bad-melody moment.
Its bad enough they're taking exams, why add to their misery with a bad, ok a not-so good card ( am trying to b diplomatic here ).

Lighten up, liven the mood, who knows, your card might just be the kick they need to ace those exams :-) :-)

ITS A LOVE STORY. . .

Yes i know...the heading might sound corny to some of you ( all yee macho people, lovers of 'gang-signs' et al) but it seemed fitting for this particular post.

I had the opportunity to work on a one-of-a-kind gift for a client for their one-year wedding anniversary. After having been referred to be by a good friend, we talked and she explained her idea to me, and i believe i heard a symphony in my head :-) :-D

The idea was amazing, it was a challenge to me and my creative self was eager to see how it would work out. The results were impressive to say the least.
The calender tells a wedding story in pictures. This has to be the epitome of personalized gifts i must say. From the quotes to the significant dates that only they know ( & now me, hehehe), it was a gift straight from the heart. I totally loved working on this project
Before i get any more mushy or corny, i'll let you see for yourself :-)

p.s the icing on the cake had to be going to see them a few months later for another project and finding the calender smack in the middle of her living room *sigh*.....such bliss :-)
Thanx B

atienoamisi "THE BRAND"

Saying that this has been a hiatus would be an insult to the word 'hiatus' itself..

This has been more of a total break... a looong journey of sorts that has seen atienoamisi grow into an improved version of itself.

I'd like to think that it is now a brand. More than once i've met people who see my work...and its like de-ja vu for them. Its weird because for some we are meeting for the first time but they have seen my work somewhere so its like they have met 'atienoamisi' THE BRAND  before! :-)
My work precedes me i guess :-) :-)
Which is a fantastic thing. The work sells itself, advertises itself, hence the growth, hence "THE BRAND" status.
Pardon me if my interpretation of the word brand is wrong....but in the spirit of democracy and freedom of expression... I'll stick to it. It works for me, it works for my work... :-)

So take this as my return......
